Most crawl space access points are an afterthought. A rotting wood frame, a door that barely fits, gaps around the edges that let in moisture and pests. It's one of those things homeowners don't notice until something goes wrong underneath the house.

This Creedmoor home needed a fresh start. We pulled out the old setup and built a completely new door and frame from scratch using PVC. No wood means no rot, no warping, and no headaches down the road. The fit is clean and tight against the brick foundation - exactly what you want when you're trying to keep outside air and moisture out of the crawl space.

PVC is the right call for this kind of application. It holds up against humidity, ground contact, and temperature swings without breaking down the way wood eventually does. For a home that already had crawl space encapsulation work done - you can see the vapor barrier liner inside the opening - a durable, well-sealed door is the last piece of the puzzle. There's no point protecting the interior of a crawl space if the entry point is letting everything back in.

Details like this matter more than most people realize. A properly built crawl space door protects your insulation, your encapsulation liner, your ductwork, and ultimately the structure of the home itself. We take that seriously on every job we do.
