As an update we had our house finished over a year ago and it is still dry under our house. The work that was done was great and the team was super-professional. Update: 3 yrs and still looking good in my crawlspace. And if you are wondering about prices, they are close if not lower than most crawlspace in the Triangle area.
They came in and installed a new vapor barrier and installed a dehumidifier they were quick and efficient, they answered any questions I had and did exactly what they said they were going to do! They are not only professional but very polite and caring They try and do the best they can do with the job they are tackling

My house's original crawlspace insulation and vapor barrier were deteriorating pretty badly, and Jon was much more responsive and gave a much better quote for the work I needed done than the other companies that gave me estimates. I got an appointment quickly, and the Bull City Crawlspace team showed up promptly, did great work fast, and I barely even noticed they were working. Jon is very friendly, and was generous with his time and follow-ups to make sure that the work his team did fits my needs.

Jon came to do a quote for us for crawlspace insulation. He was early to the appointment, very friendly, and ended up informing me that there were some limitations due to duct work that he didn’t feel confident he wouldn’t damage when installing the fiberglass insulation. He gave us different options for how we would proceed, gave us his personal advice and was just very informative and helpful. I am bummed this was a job he wouldn’t be able to assist with as he was so nice and helpful.

Jonathan and his team were GREAT! I needed a french drain and vapor barrier in an itty-bitty crawlspace, and as a first time homeowner, I had a lot of anxiety about such a big (read: expensive) job. Jonathan answered all of my (many, many) questions, helped tailor the job to my budget, and was incredibly responsive throughout the process. The whole team was really friendly and tidy during the project (1.5 days), and took care not to harm the foundation plantings. I couldn't be more impressed with their quality of work, and I'm so grateful I trusted my home to Bull City Crawlspace.

Had my crawl partially encapsulated by another company. Within a year we had high humidity in the crawl as measured by humidity meters and efflorescence on the walls. Called in 4 different companies, including the original installer, and Jonathan at Bull City was the ONLY one to determine that our previously installed dehumidifier, while running, was no longer dehumidifying due to a freon leak. He put in the warranty paperwork and ordered us a new one free of charge. Decided to have him install a better vapor barrier and seal. What a difference. Highly recommend Bull City over any other crawlspace company in the triangle. Again, I called them all. Bull City found the actual problem.
Jon and his crew were super responsive and courteous while on site. They have a good eye for the work that needs to be done and will set you up well for the long term. On the flip side, they didn’t try to sell anything unnecessary. They did great work, and I feel a whole lot better about our crawl space now.

My experience with Bull City Crawlspace was positive from the start when Jon responded quickly to my initial inquiry. Perhaps what I appreciated the most about the experience was that Jon didn't push me to do anything more than was truly necessary to improve my crawlspace. He made a distinction between what was necessary and what would be extra. Bull City Crawlspace recently addressed several issues we were experiencing at our home: mold on joists, wet insulation, dampness, etc... Jon carefully evaluated and documented the issues and provided his recommendations to address our concerns. His staff arrived and performed the prescribed work in the most professional manner. There was no sign of them ever being there other than a transformation of our crawlspace. I would highly recommend Bull City Crawlspace to anyone that is having issues with moisture issues within their crawlspace.

Not only has his service of adding a battery backup to my sump pump worked flawlessly and been a lifesaver, he’s gone above and beyond multiple times to make sure I was taken care of since the install. Working with Jonathan was great from scheduling a quote to getting the job done. He worked diligently to understand our needs and did not advise to do more than was needed in our crawlspace. He was honest and kind enough to even show my dad around what he was observing in the crawlspace. We were in a bit of a time crunch the day he did the inspection, and he was quick in his inspection and sent the quote to us immediately after he left the house - no long sales pitch like other companies. His price was fair and scheduling was a breeze with the online system he used. No down payment was required for our job, and we paid the day of service upon satisfaction.

Bull City Crawlspace did a fantastic job on our crawlspace which was a full project- mold remediation and encapsulation. They were able to fit us in within a reasonable amount of time and fulfilled each commitment. Everyone was informative, answered all of our questions and easily accommodated a couple requests. The crew thanked us for our business multiple times, stayed on schedule and left no trace. This was a big, looming task (and surprise) that we had to get done quickly. As I’m sure it is for anyone needing mold remediation, it was overwhelming…there’s health concerns, it’s not friendly on the bank account and its time off to deal with estimates, etc. We met with a few other companies and we ultimately chose Bill City Crawlspace because we were able to see the quality of work done through shared videos (very helpful) and pictures of other work completed. Also, Jonathan was the only one to take a video with commentary as he’s crawling under our house. This created an additional layer of trust when we could see everything with our own eyes (without crawling under the house ourselves). The quality of work was excellent as expected and we are very happy with the decision to hire this company.

After getting quotes from 3 companies, we chose Bull City Crawlspace because they were extremely knowledgeable and because it is a local small business where the owner is directly involved. Jon came and did the initial investigation, the quote and managed his team directly. He also followed up personally and ensured everything was done to his standards, even replacing something that was fine but not perfect. I can't say enough about Jon and Bully City Crawlspace. I used Bull City, referred by my neighbor, to clean, encapsulate & install a dehumidifier in our crawlspace. Jon and his team were on time, answered all my questions and knocked the job out to give us a clean space under out house. I would recommend them to other neighbors and friends.
Bull City Crawlspace encapsulated my 20 year old crawl space within several days of me contacting them. Jon came out the next day and performed a complete crawl space inspection with photos. After reviewing options, I was given an on the spot estimate with follow-up emails and photos. The estimate was more than fair and we agreed upon the crawl space encapsulation option. A very heavy white fiber reinforced barrier material, that was puncture and tear free, was used. Several days later a 3 member team arrived in the AM and worked throughout the day, the job was completed with photos provided. I then fully inspected the crawl space where now I feel really comfortable going there and was very very impressed with the attention to detail and the overall job. I tipped the 3 team members, who worked very hard, for their great work. I was billed via email and paid with a credit card. I highly recommend Jon and his team for any Crawl space work. Bull City made my crawl space look like a surgical theater. We were worried about mold and mildew due to a high moisture content and they can in and in two days reduced the relative humidity in the crawl space to 50%, and no mold or mildew. Looking forward to many healthy years ahead for both us and our home.

This is the second time we have used Bull City for our crawlspace and both times the work has been outstanding. This time Bull City cleaned up water damage from our water heater busting. They replaced insulation, repaired our encapsulation and cleaned up all the mold. The crawl space looks pristine again, not a speck of mold to be found. We highly recommend them to anyone looking to have their crawl space cleaned up.

I highly recommend Bull City Crawlspace for all your crawlspace needs. From the first estimate to the finished job, the whole project was a breeze! Estimate was very thorough and fair and the price quoted was my final price with no hidden fees. It was also the cheapest of all the estimates I received and ironically it offered the most work for our home. We were NOT disappointed! Work was done in a reasonable time frame with very thoughtful and courteous workers who were neat and did a stellar job. Count be happier with the work or service received.

I contacted Bull City Crawlspace to inspect and diagnose standing water and moisture issues in our 20-year-old crawlspace. Jon replied directly to schedule a time for an inspection (I texted on Friday and had the appointment on Monday!) and was kind enough to let me tag along and ask questions while he was looking around. He was knowledgeable and friendly about the quirks of crawlspace design for a new homeowner! We needed to have part of the crawlspace sealed off due to that quirky design and a commercial-grade dehumidifier installed. The quote was transparent, the price fair. The team was able to come in just 2 days later to do the work! They were also friendly and willing to show me what they were doing throughout the process. Our dehumidifier has been chugging away now for 2 weeks and we could tell the difference in humidity not only down in the crawlspace (no more puddles or condensation on our HVAC unit) but in the house living spaces as well. 80% relative humidity in the crawlspace and 73% in the house down to 55% or less in both places! Jon came to check out the unit this morning and make sure it was performing as expected and we're on the schedule to have the filters changed next year. Truly fantastic service, responsiveness, and attention to detail by everyone on the Bull City Crawlspace team. Highly recommend them for your musty crawlspace needs!
Jon & his crew were timely and professional and did an outstanding job on our interior french drain in our crawlspace. They even found a shovel of ours in the crawlspace that could have easily been mistaken for one of theirs but they propped it right outside the door for us. Super team and GREAT work for a GREAT price. These usually don't go together!
Working with Jon has been a great experience. BCC renovated out crawlspace several years ago, and recently the dehumidifier they installed failed. Jon removed it and installed a loaner which helped tremendously. It turned out we needed a new unit, which he researched and obtained.

Bull City Crawlspace did a great job on my crawlspace encapsulation. A thorough job completed in 2 days with no messes left. Jon and his crew went so far as to provide an air inlet for the furnace and provide a protective cap for the furnace exhaust, something left off by the original installers. They were very efficient and easy to work with. I strongly recommend them. They followed up with an inspection 2 weeks after completion with no issues found. The mark of a great contractor.

Jon and his team completed a 2 day job for one of my rental houses. I could not be present so I handed the crawlspace keys over to Jon. I received updates everyday and what was planned for the next day. A problem came about, his guys accidentally hit a copper pipe (water line) producing a small leak. Jon notified me and assured me he would have a plumber out that evening. Pipe was repaired and Jon absurd the cost. Accidents happen, that's apart of life, but it's how a person/company responds. Jon Childress came by to check up on my crawl space because I was smelling a musty odor and it was prior to my annual check up in June. I AM SO GLAD HE DID! As it turned out my dryer vent in crawl space had come undone and had been blowing out into the crawl space. John immediately made the repair at no cost. I highly recommend Bull City Crawlspace! They are professional, very professional. They did what they call a basic clean-out in my crawlspace. Removed old insulation and They installed new insulation and a vapor barrier. These guys didn’t leave not 1 piece of trash in my yard. None. Crawlspace is much much better. Didn’t take them long at all,About a day and a half. Give them a call, you will be glad you did.
Two years ago we were shocked to find out that the water heater in our crawlspace had sprung a leak and had been spraying water in a large region of our crawlspace for months. What an awful mess! It was causing the hardwood floor in our dining room to begin to buckle. After doing some research and making a few phone calls, I had Jon of Bull City Crawlspace come out and give us an estimate on repairing the damage. His team at Bull City Crawlspace did an excellent job encapsulating our crawlspace, they did it on schedule with no cost overruns, and this summer when the dehumidifier they had installed began to fail, Jon responded the same day to honor the warranty and replaced the circuit board, solving the problem. Jonathan is awesome! I’ve been with him for 5 years now when he started his crawlspace inspection business. I bought a new house and there were moisture problems so he installed a commercial grade dehumidifier and my crawl has been clean and dry ever since. He comes once a year and does an annual inspection but if you need anything or have any questions he’s right there helping. He stands by his work and I feel 100% confident I’ll never have any issues with my crawl space again. I strongly recommend Jonathan to anyone who owns a home but doesn’t like maintaining their own crawl. Thanks Jonathan!!

The owner and the entire team answered all of our many questions, were very professional, and worked with us to make necessary decisions. They removed our old rotted insulation, disinfected our joists, filled small cracks, installed a heavy duty vapor barrier, and put up new insulation. Super professional, did a great job. They reinsulated my crawl space and redid the vapor barrier. They did it when I was out of town, and the owner emailed me each day with notes on the progress and pictures.
